Rachel Peacock, Reference and Information Manager for Gateshead Libraries tells us that ExploreMusic (situated inside The Sage Gateshead) has been highly commended in the Public Library Building Awards 2005, in the category of Partnership.
The Awards ceremony was held at the Public Library Authority conference on Wednesday 19th October.
The award follows submission of a video application, and a visit from a panel of judges earlier this year. Set up in 1995, the awards recognise libraries that lead the way in building design, and reward the very best in new and refurbished library development across the UK and Ireland. ExploreMusic were one of almost 70 library authorities to submit applications for the award.
Well done to Rachel, Julia Mitford and all the staff.
