Cycling Proficiency Instructors wanted in Gateshead
The Council's Road Safety Team sent this canvass today:
OUR CHILDREN NEED YOU!
Every year the Road Safety Team run cycling proficiency training courses in primary schools during the spring / summer term.
The programme runs for between March and October, working between
9am and 3pm, Monday to Friday either in the East or the West sides of the borough.
In order for the programme to run this year we are seeking to employ instructors to carry out this worthwhile and rewarding job.
The aim of the course is to make children more aware of the responsibilities associated with owning a bike and to develop the basic skills required to encourage safer cycling. Experience isn’t necessary as full training will be given and the Council will administer an enhanced CRB check on behalf of the applicant.
If you know any family / friends who worry about the road safety of our children, feel confident talking to children and would like to work outdoors as a paid cycling instructor, please contact Angela Burnett or Gillian Green in the Road Safety Team (0191 4333106 / 4333160) for more information.
