National Lottery Consultation

The future of arts lottery funding is being decided - make your voice heard.

To coincide with the renewal of the lottery licence, the Government is consulting the public on the future of the Lottery Good Causes and how National Lottery money should be distributed from 2009 onwards.
This is an opportunity for all of us who care about the arts to make our voices heard.

Making a difference to the North East
Over the last 10 years Arts Council England, North East has invested over £158 million of arts lottery funds in community projects, public art and regeneration across our region. This money has changed both the physical and cultural landscape of our region, making possible flagship projects such as the Angel of the North, The Sage Gateshead, BALTIC and Middlesbrough institute of modern art (mima), as well as countless community projects.

Your opinion counts
The consultation runs to 28 February 2006. We want to make sure that the arts continue to be supported by the National Lottery and would like to encourage you to respond to this consultation.
Whatever your involvement with the arts, your opinion really counts. This is your opportunity to speak out and help safeguard the future of the arts as a valuable and valued recipient of lottery funds.

To take part
You can take part in the consultation in the following ways:
Log on to www.lottery2009.culture.gov.uk and fill in the questionnaire on line.
Phone 020 7211 6372 to ask for a paper questionnaire.
Write to the Government at: Department for Culture, Media and Sport, 2-4 Cockspur Street, London SW1Y 5DH
