World Book Day 2006

World Book Day 2005 saw the launch of an entirely new campaign to encourage people to recommend a good read to friends and family. Millions of free postcards were made available throughout the country for users to send with a personal book recommendation - an easy way for everyone to participate. The response was so enthusiastic that World Book Day has created a brand new set of four cards for 2006. Free cards are available in libraries, bookshops, bars, cafes, health clubs, heritage sites and in magazines and newspapers from mid- February 2006. Users will also be able to send an e- card from the World Book Day site from mid-February The promotional material is on its way to all Gateshead Council service points already.
