Tudor Lives at the Shipley Art Gallery for Primary Schools

Tyne & Wear Museums is delighted to announce the opening of
Tudor Lives at Shipley Art Gallery, Prince Consort Road, Gateshead.

From 16 September, your pupils will be able to meet Henrietta Maddison, the wife of a Newcastle merchant in Tudor times. They will visit him in the Parlour and explore some of the wonderful Tudor objects from the museums’ collections. The pupils will find out more about the work of the poor people by visiting her kitchen and trying out different household tasks. They will also discover whether they could survive Tudor disease and medicine. All this is offered entirely free of charge.

Tudor Lives at Segedunum and Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens booked up in a matter of days, so we would urge you to book straightaway to avoid disappointment.

The exhibtion runs from the 16th September to the 29th of October.

To find out more or to book your pupils’ Tudor experience please call the Learning Team on (0191) 477 1495.
