Visual Arts training for Gateshead Teachers at BALTIC

Thursday 5th of October 2006
4.30pm - 6.30pm
BALTIC
FREE

As part of a collaborative day with Scottish Arts Council, Gateshead Cultural Ambassadors and their colleagues are invited to take part in a practical workshop at BALTIC. Meeting visiting delegates you will represent the region and have the chance to get involved in both a workshop and informal discussion. The practical session will be led by BALTIC freelance artists Sally Madge and Cath Campbell and will be based on the Spank the Monkey exhibition. Refreshments will be provided too.

Cath Campbell is particularly interested in 3D work. Her practice includes sculpture, drawing and installation. Workshops allow participants to solve problems and make decisions. Cath has recently completed a residency at Cragside House, Northumberland.

Sally Madge’s art practice includes sculpture, installation and performance. She uses a variety of venues and a range of materials. Participants often find themselves becoming part of their own art!

Booking essential.
